The Lebanese Society of Critical Care Medicine intensivist

In 2003 the Lebanese Order of physicians (LOP) approved the founding of its first multidisciplinary multispecialty society: the Lebanese Critical Care Society. This was the first LOP society to encompass members from different medical specialties: Pulmonary, Anesthesiology , Internal Medicine, and Surgery.
The vision of the society is to improve the care of all critically ill patients in Lebanon to provide exemplary care. The society is committed to advancing critical care medicine by setting the highest standards for professional education, and patient care. This will be achieved by advancing professional knowledge, enhancing skills, applying evidence based medicine, and sharing best practices. There is also a full focus on the multidisciplinary approach to critical care. To that effect the society has maintained over the years a close partnership with the critical care nurses, respiratory therapists and nutrition specialists.
